FAA Seminar

On August 23rd Chalfont Fire Company hosted a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Seminar in the Engine Bay of Station 34. This long-anticipated seminar’s timing comes less than two months after the fatal small plane crash in Doylestown on June 15th. Two members from the FAAST (FAA SAFETY TEAM) delivered a presentation that covered:· The various types of aircraft you may encounter.

• First response authority protocols
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) best practices.
• Hazards associated with aircraft accidents.
• Victim case and fatality necessities.
• Incident scene preservation.
• Securely shutting down aircraft power sources.

More than 90 law enforcement officers, firefighters, fire police, and EMS personnel were in attendance. Thank you all for coming out!
